The Ego Trap | The Senior’s Paradox | “I Don’t Know”

March 18, 2025

The Senior’s Paradox – The more you know, the harder it is to admit when you don’t.

The trap of being infallible.

Why does it even happen?

- The fear of being perceived as incompetent.

- Impostor Syndrome

- The Myth of the Omniscient Senior

- The Ego

- The Importance of Psychological Safety

In my opinion, the ability of a senior to say, "I don't know" is a true sign of strength.

It’s crucial to cultivate the mindset that we don’t have to know everything

- but we can always learn.

As a senior, it's important to have the courage to be imperfect

- to admit that you don’t know something.

I believe one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is

- the ability to admit that I don’t know everything.

In the end, not knowing something doesn’t matter

- what truly matters is what you do about it.

Fortunately, it’s easy to overcome - you can learn it.
